Dr. Labuda has twenty-five years of research, management and teaching
experience. She employs her expertise in biochemistry, biotechnology, microbiology, food safety and fermentation to advance the food and flavor industries.
Ivica’s experience in the industry began as senior scientist at Kraft Foods, focusing on Flavor Biotechnology and Food Safety. Subsequently, she held leadership positions at Givaudan and Danisco/Cultor, focusing on natural flavor ingredients, taste, antioxidants and antimicrobials. As an Executive Senior Manager at Pepsi-Cola she managed a research group on food ingredients, emulsions and taste. In her career as a researcher, Ivica’s work has been published in 25 peer-reviewed publications and is described in 13 patents. She has been invited to speak on her work at conferences such as the Wuerman Symposium, ASM, SIM, ACCS and ACS and Gordon Conferences. She is the founder of Biokeys for Flavors, LLC.
